One word that I have become quite familiar with is HOPE. As someone who has been faced with cancer, I have realized that there is hope. Hope for more time, hope for better treatments, and hope for a brighter future. The love and support I received from family, friends, and complete strangers during my battle with cancer changed me. I had inspiring role models who showed me what a "servant's heart" should look like. As a result, I have made it my top priority to give back in every way that I can.

Dunwoody, GA is my home but you can find my husband and me in Blue Ridge, GA on the weekends. Blue Ridge has taken a hold of my heart and has shown me the true meaning of community. The people who live here have a love and appreciation for the outdoors and the incredible gift of giving. Random acts of kindness are displayed on a regular basis.

With a need to give back to this beautiful mountain community that has given me so much, I had the incredible opportunity to create "Pottery with a purpose" for an event called Bowls of Hope. I was humbled and honored to be one among many talented artists displaying their handcrafted ceramic bowls. All of the proceeds went to Feed Fannin, a beautiful organization that feeds the hungry in Fannin County and promotes awareness for garden-grown food.

The event was a huge success with delicious local food and wines, a silent auction, and entertainment from the talented band, The Loose Shoes. A wonderful time was had by all. I look forward to next year's event and throwing "Pottery with a Purpose".
