I have two incredible sons. They have my heart. So, when one asked me to create dinnerware for his new house I jumped at the request. I wanted to create something unique that reflected who he is and delivered a special message. I thought long and hard about this.

My son Kell’s favorite color has ALWAYS been green. That was the ONLY color in his wheelhouse, so that was a no brainer. The message was a little more difficult.

Years ago I read a beautiful book that set my creative heart on fire, The Turquoise Table written by Kristin Schell. She lives in Austin, Tx and “was on a mission to love her neighbors. She put an ordinary table in her front yard, painted it turquoise and invited neighbors, friends and even strangers to hang out and do life together at the turquoise table”. The turquoise table movement took off and if you look close enough you can find them all over the country. The book reminded me that God created us for community and now I cannot look at the color turquoise without thinking about community. Also, The color turquoise represents compassion, calmness, clarity, and communication.

So i decided turquoise would be the perfect color. It is my hope that as the years go by and he displays this set at a crowded table with family, friends, even strangers, he will ALWAYS be reminded of how important it is to Love your Neighbor and practice hospitality 💚

A few months ago my aunt came across several linens my grandmother hand crocheted over 50 years ago. At a loss of what to do with them, I told her I had a beautiful use for them. I have creatively incorporated their texture in my ceramic charcuterie/cheese boards.

My grandmother passed away over 30 years ago. I often think of the influence she had on my life. She had a unique and creative spirit. She gave me my love of antiques and the Maine Coast. I am so thrilled I can create pieces for our family that will carry a little part of her every time we use or display them.
